I am stepping up to run because, for a very long time, I have felt like I didn't have a voice. And I know I am not the only one. It feels like politics has shifted away from what it should be—helping people and making life better for everyone—and has instead become a tool for the wealthy to improve their own positions. More and more of us are feeling left behind. I am running because I want to change that. I want to be a voice that works to improve things for everyone in our community. I don't want anyone to ever feel abandoned by our government. We can build a future where everyone is heard, and no one is left behind.
Living in The Colony has become increasingly unaffordable. If you don't already own a home or a business here, finding a place to live can feel truly daunting. I see this struggle firsthand every day. I run a business in Grandscape, and the single biggest challenge my employees face is simply finding a place to live. We need to support the people who work in our community. That is why I am focused on bringing practical solutions to the table. We must improve our public transportation and work to bring in apartments and housing that people can actually afford with their jobs located right here. The people who work in The Colony should be able to live in The Colony, and I am ready to work to make that a reality.
